2008 Highlights

More than 220 people attended the 30th Annual Zenith Auction.   Guests were treated to a wonderful evening of conversation and fun while browsing and bidding on Chinese auction prizes, silent bids, and sealed bids!  Dinner was terrific from salad to dessert, and the event culminated in a spirited live auction.  Mrs._Domizis_class_08.JPG (3260601 bytes)

The many hours of soliciting, organizing, strategizing and decorating all came together into one fun and profitable evening, with proceeds of approximately $20,000 to enrich the curriculum for the children in Willoughby-Eastlake School District 's Zenith program.  Former Zenith students, now in high school, volunteered their time to help at the event. Kevin Malecek, Willoughby Hills city council president and former Zenith student, spoke to the group.  He reminded parents of the importance of supporting this program, and told some funny stories of riding the bus.

Eastlake councilman Bryan Lajenuesse acted as our "Vanna" to showcase and cajole the patrons to bid high and bid often.  The classroom projects were by far the big hit, but numerous bargains were had too.  With so many generous offerings of donated items, almost everyone took home something to remind them of the great time.  zalar_w_aiden_and.jpg (67578 bytes)

Each table had thank you notes prepared by the students, showing their appreciation for the laptops, field tips, elmo projectors, and many other items provided by WEAGT to enhance their school experience.

See you next year!
