Meeting began at 7:05 PM. with the Pledge of Allegiance.Minutes from the February meeting were distributed and approved.

Comments from Mrs. Stevens:  Mrs. Stevens thanked all of the parents and volunteers involved in the Zenith auction for the enjoyable time that she had that evening.

Comments from Mrs. Harker:  Mrs. Harker also stated that she had a very nice time at the auction.  She is busy preparing for the testing that will be conducted this school year.  The Independent Study meeting for the teachers was held recently.  Emphasis was placed on the type of skills that need to be utilized in the context of the projects.

Treasurer’s Report:  Ryan Cummins was not able to attend this meeting.  He submitted a preliminary report on the auction financial report which was circulated to all those in attendance.

President’s Comments:  Sue Luck stated that the ELMO was delivered to Mrs. Seifert’s classroom at the Middle School.  Mrs. Seifert was very happy to receive this classroom aid.  Mrs. Ciferno, who is the school district’s Gifted Intervention Specialist, may soon be requesting the use of a laptop to aid in her travels to different schools.  Mrs. Harker will look into this request and expense.

Auction Report:  Sandy Foltz reported on results from the survey concerning the auction.  There was discussion about the venue and cost.  The best month(s) for the auction were tallied as February or March.  Nina Transky stated that parents who are unable to come to the auction should be able to see the final results of the classroom auction projects.  It was suggested during general discussion that perhaps pictures of the projects could be posted on our website.  It was stated however that privacy issues were a concern and therefore the successful bidder and the amount paid should not be included on the website.  No determination was made as to the location for next year’s auction, however, the Patrician is allowing our group until May 1st to commit to the last Saturday in February for next year.

Sue Luck stated that a Nominating Committee will be formed to come up with a slate of officers for next year’s WEAGT board.  A flyer with this slate will be sent home with the students. Other nominations can be made at the April meeting.  WEAGT primarily has two events during the year – the Family Picnic held in September and the Auction.  Discussion should be had in the future as to whether or not more events should be added to our agenda.

PTA updates:  Amy Soltesz mentioned the upcoming PTA events:  The Chick-Fil-A event, the last skating party and the Carnival at North on April 24th.

Meeting adjourned at 8:09 P.M. Submitted, Joyce Hribar Fiebig, Secretary
