WEAGT membership meeting, 

February 2, 2008, Washington Library

Present: Tim Higgins, Annette Thompson, Sue Luck, Carol Bergeron, Maria Fechner, Michelle Marcsik, Betty Stevens, Amy Soltesz, Luann Panchula, Lori Wylie, Paul Liberatore. 

Tim Higgins called meeting to order at 7:10 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Michelle Marcsik reported on the Auction.  Invitations have been mailed and Wii raffle tickets have been distributed.  Donations are in line with previous years.  New auctioneer is from Middlefield.  Linda Barrus is in contact with the classroom project moms.  Explanation letter describing the purpose and method of the auction has been well received.  

Mrs. Stevens reports that three new Elmos and three LCD projectors have been ordered, totaling $4063.20.  Three carts are $260.70 and connecting cables are $162.00.  Also, the school website has a new design with more capabilities.  Chess club will be in the yearbook and the advisors will be the moms who’ve worked chess club from the beginning, namely Lori Wylie, Tonya (LAST NAME) and Trixie Higgins. 

Tim thanked Sue Luck for her email updates of Washington PTA happenings and dubbed her initiative as “Sue’s News.”  

Congratulations to Luke Liberatore for winning the district spelling bee at the middle school. 

Kindergarten registration is Feb 27.  Next year’s kindergarten will be five half days per week- either AM or PM.  Parents may request either AM or PM. 

Amy Soltesz reminds us that Texas Roadhouse is hosting a family night on 2/28 with proceeds to Washington PTA.  The Malley’s fundraiser offers the same prices as in stores.  Box tops competition was successful, and so far the year’s proceeds from Box Tops for Education have been $900. 

Carnival is April 12 at North High School, and raises money for scholarships. 

Scholastic Book Fair is week of March 10 and is offered 9-3, Monday thru Friday, with two additional evenings that week.  Help is needed during the day.  Volunteers are also needed for COSI, meeting on March 18 and 19 (Tues and Wed.) 

Family Fun Night is March 3 from 6-8 at Washington.  The organizers request that people commit to bring specific board games ahead of time so that offerings can be determined. 

Carol made motion to approve Dec minutes, Sue and Amy seconded, motion passed.  Tim requested email notification of upcoming meetings.  Adjourned 8:20.  Next meeting Thursday, March 6 at Washington Library.
