OPENING:

Tim Higgins called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm

Minutes from the December meeting were approved.

 

PRINCIPAL/VICE PRINCIPAL REPORT:

Mrs. Stevens welcomed everyone back.  Mrs. Stevens also urged all families to use Study Island.  She stated that not everyone was taking advantage of this.

 

Mrs. Harker reviewed the W-E Schools website. She pointed out the Parents Site, which has information regarding the Zenith enrichment program.  There is a link for ACT/SAT prep, Scholarship and Gifted program opportunities link. Also, summer opportunity programs which are updated each March, color coded and states if financial aid is available. There is even a shopping guide for gifted children which has ideas to buy for gifts. 

Sue Luck talked about Fine Arts. 

-        First grade will be doing Clay and Painting. They will have 3 sessions.

-        Second grade will be doing the same they will have 2 clay and 1 painting.

-        Third will have Clay and Painting.

-        Fourth and Fifth will be doing Clay and attending a production of Willy Wonka at Willoughby Fine Arts.

 

Kim Aliazzi talked about the Auction.

-        Donation letters were a huge success.

-        Michelle Marscik is in charge of donations. Michelle is in need of people to help with follow up phone calls and to solicit businesses.

-        Invitations are ready, and will be mailed in 1-2 weeks. 

-        We are in need of wicker baskets, medium totes, laundry baskets, or anything to make baskets.

-        We are also in need of tissue and cellophane wrap.

-        Volunteers are needed to work at the auction. We need volunteers to Welcome guests, sell tickets, work the Chinese Auction, and basket runners to deliver baskets to tables.

-        We would like to have an donation item to do a pre-sale.

-        Dr. Omerza has donated a FULL set of Orthodontia to the auction.

 

Chess Club enrollment is down. We are in need of parent volunteers. 

 

Meeting adjourned at 7:50pm

 

Next meeting will be February 5th at 7pm at Washington Elementary.

February 28th - Annual Auction

All are at Washington at 7pm
March 3rd -
April 21st (election of officers for 2009-2010 year)
May 14th (last meeting of the school year)
