ZENITH AUCTION FAQ’s What
is the Zenith Auction? The Zenith Auction is the sole fundraiser for the
Zenith program. When
and where is it? Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Patrician Party
Center, 33150 Lakeland Boulevard, Eastlake from 5:30pm – 11:00pm. What
are the funds that are raised used for? Funds raised from the auction support: technological
upgrades, materials to supplement the curriculum, additional field trips, art
lessons/projects, math and science programs, and more. Does
it cost a lot of money to attend the auction? The cost of dinner is $27 per person.
As far as the rest of the evening goes - you can spend as little or as
much money as you choose. Chances
to win items start as low as $1. What
should I wear? This year our theme is Luau.
The night is like a fun date night out, not a formal occasion.
You can choose luau attire, or business casual.
Some people prefer to dress up, some prefer to dress down.
Frankly, it doesn’t matter, as long as you are there! Who
can attend? Anyone can attend the auction.
Those that typically attend are: Zenith parents, grandparents, other
relatives/friends, teachers, administration, and alumni parents. What
is the Chinese Auction? There are typically close to 100 baskets/items
available. There is a corresponding
bag next to each item – if you would like a chance at winning an item, then
you place as many tickets as you’d like into that bag. Ticket prices are 1 ticket for $1.00, 6 tickets for $5.00,
and 24 tickets for $20.00. What
is the Silent Auction? There are typically close to 100 items available.
Bidders write a bid on the corresponding bid sheet located next to each
item. Items tend to go for face value (or less). What
is the Live Auction? This is the part of the auction where a live
auctioneer auctions our children’s classroom projects and other exciting
items. What
is a Sideboard? There are two large boards, each with tickets
numbered from 1 to 100. One board
will have tickets for $3 each, and the other will board will have tickets for $5
each. Once all of the numbers on a
board have been sold, one winning number will be drawn – the person holding
that number will win half of the money collected for that board (the other half
goes to the Zenith program). If
you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact the auction
